At First Presbyterian Church, we offer learning opportunities for children, youth, and adults. This informational brochure will help you know more about our Christian Education ministries and how you can get involved.
Adult Elective Classes
Adults of every age and stage of life can connect with other believers and grow deeper in their faith by attending our adult elective classes on Sunday mornings at 9:30am. These brief courses cover a variety of topics such as marriage, family issues, biblical studies, and much more.

Growth Groups
A Growth Group is a small group gathering that meets in someone ’s home to pray, study the Bible, and build deeper relationships with one another. Shawn & Emily Hickok host a Growth Group on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm at their home, just outside of Greenfield. Contact Shawn at 937 -403 -2808 to find out more.
Christian Life Bible Institute
Free courses are offered during the week at First Presbyterian Church in partnership with the Christian Life Bible Institute, an educational ministry of the Greenfield Area Christian Center. These classes include biblical studies, theology, history, practical ministry skills, and much more. Call the church office at 937-981-3735 to find out the current schedule of classes
Nursery
We offer a staffed nursery for children ages 0 - 3 during our 10:30am Sunday morning worship service.
Sunday School
Classes are available every Sunday morning at 9:30am for children in preschool, early elementary, and upper elementary.
Junior Church
Children age 4 - 5th grade are dismissed from our 10:30am worship service

Acolyte Ministry
Children can receive hands -on training to serve as an acolyte during our 10:30am worship service, lighting and extinguishing the altar candles.
Children ’s Moment
The first Sunday of the month is “Family Sunday” and children remain in the sanctuary for the entirety of the worship service. During this service, a brief age - appropriate children ’s message is shared with the kids.
First Presbyterian Preschool
Children ages 2 1/2 - 5 years old can be enrolled in our Preschool which emphasizes socialization, academics, and spiritual formation. Contact the church office to learn more about details of enrollment
Sunday School
A class for middle school and high school students is offered every Sunday morning at 9:30am.
New Directions
Our students in middle school and high school meet every Sunday evening at 6:00pm during the school year at New Directions, Greenfield ’s community - wide youth ministry. A summer schedule of activities is also

Opportunities to Serve
Teenagers can help mentor younger children by serving as helpers in the nursery or in Junior Church.
We are always looking for volunteers who love God and have a passion to help others grow in their faith. Serving in the Christian Education ministry is a powerful way to make an eternal investment in the lives of children, youth and adults.
